Welcome to Åsundsholm
Welcome to Åsundsholm!
Come and spend the night at Birgit Th. Sparre’s mansion, beautifully situated on the eastern bank of Åsunden lake in West Sweden. This is where she wrote most of her books in the series called “Estates around the Lake,” in which Åsundsholm and her childhood home, Sjöred, were described. Today the manor house is part of a complex that provides golf, conference facilities, accommodation and a restaurant.
The golf course was opened in 2007 and has ever since been established as one of the best courses in western Sweden, and been ranked top three in Västergötland by Golf Digest two times in a row. The golf course consists of 18 holes (par 72, 5785 meters from back tee) beautifully placed in the surroundings, several of them with a grand view of the lake. The course is designed by Swede Henrik Wissinger and built with modern USGA greens with bentgrass. The course features a modern layout with deep and grass lined bunkers as well as several water features such as winding creeks and beautiful dams, some with water fountains.
Åsundsholm is conveniently located in the heart of western Sweden, only 45 minutes from Gothenburg Landvetter airport. Major cities such as Gothenburg and Jönköping can be easily reached within an hour, and closer by the city of Borås (33 km) and the picturesque town of Ulricehamn nestled on the hills of northern lake Åsunden. Ulricehamn is a vibrant summer town but also thriving in the winter with Ulricehamn Skicenter and Lassalyckans Recreational area.
